Curiosity #73 - Habits - now Unhinged

Feb 25, 2026

đŸŽ€ Quotable quotes: “Inaction is a decision." (and a really bad habit)

— Jonathan Goodman

Roy Kent does not have balanced habits.

Roy Kent does not wake up and say,
“I’ll work on myself a little
 if I have time.”

Roy shows up. Fully. Intensely. On purpose.

And that’s the personal leadership lesson right there:

The people who grow aren’t the ones who wait for motivation.
They’re the ones who decide.

That’s why this week’s curiosity reminded me so much of Roy:

📖 Jonathan Goodman. Unhinged: A Counterintuitive Guide for Humans to Have More by Doing Less 2026.

In Unhinged Habits, Goodman makes the case that personal leadership isn’t about having the perfect routine or the most aesthetic morning habits.

It’s about commitment.

It’s about treating the life you want to build like it matters enough to show up for consistently, even when you don’t feel like it.

Because leadership starts long before anyone is watching.

Goodman calls it “healthy obsession”
not chaos, not burnout
just the refusal to keep making excuses for the goals you say you care about.

The takeaway is simple:

Stop dabbling in your own potential.

Roy didn’t become Roy Kent by dabbling.

So here’s your challenge this week:

What’s one habit you’ve been doing casually
that deserves a little more intention?

More leadership musings

đŸȘ Biscuits with the Boss:

If Roy Kent were your personal coach for one week, what habit would he force you to take seriously?

Whistle. Whistle. 👀

🌎 This week in Here - There - Every F’ing where

Marnie went and played putt putt in her local library this weekend. After her second stroke on a par 4 in the non-fiction section, she looked down and ....wait...what?! Lead It Like Lasso on the shelf! We have our own Dewey Decimal Number!! 658.4!!! (Check it out - literally - lol)

How cool is that?!

Believe!

Curiosity #92 - The Reverse Career Fair (and so much more)
đŸŽ€ Quotable Quote“You have to earn the right to have those conversations.”— Jason Van Nus   🎧 This Week’s Guest: Jason Van Nus Jason Van Nus calls himself a "gentle disruptor." We think that's about right. As the CEO of the new WIN Regional College and Career Academy, Jason isn't trying to throw out education. He's trying to make it work better. His belief is simple: High sc...
Curiosity #91 - Futbol Is Life!
đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: “Futbol Is Life!" — Dani Rojas At the time we're writing this, we're in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup. And honestly? It's been fantastic. Today, both the United States and England take the pitch with a chance to advance to the Round of 16. We'll be cheering for both. (Yes, we know... that's a dangerous thing to admit.) Watching the World Cup got us thinking about...
Curiosity #90 - Faaaaaaaack! Roy was right.
đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: “Don't you dare settle for fine." — Roy Kent We were walking through an airport recently when someone noticed our Lead It Like Lasso patch and asked if it was related to Ted Lasso. Naturally, we said yes. We explained that while Ted may be the title character, the leadership lessons come from all over Richmond. Ted, Rebecca. Sam. Keeley. The person nodded along and then said...
