Curiosity #73 - Habits - now Unhinged

Feb 25, 2026
Connect

đŸŽ€ Quotable quotes: “Inaction is a decision." (and a really bad habit)

— Jonathan Goodman

Roy Kent does not have balanced habits.

Roy Kent does not wake up and say,
“I’ll work on myself a little
 if I have time.”

Roy shows up. Fully. Intensely. On purpose.

And that’s the personal leadership lesson right there:

The people who grow aren’t the ones who wait for motivation.
They’re the ones who decide.

That’s why this week’s curiosity reminded me so much of Roy:

📖 Jonathan Goodman. Unhinged: A Counterintuitive Guide for Humans to Have More by Doing Less 2026.

In Unhinged Habits, Goodman makes the case that personal leadership isn’t about having the perfect routine or the most aesthetic morning habits.

It’s about commitment.

It’s about treating the life you want to build like it matters enough to show up for consistently, even when you don’t feel like it.

Because leadership starts long before anyone is watching.

Goodman calls it “healthy obsession”
not chaos, not burnout
just the refusal to keep making excuses for the goals you say you care about.

The takeaway is simple:

Stop dabbling in your own potential.

Roy didn’t become Roy Kent by dabbling.

So here’s your challenge this week:

What’s one habit you’ve been doing casually
that deserves a little more intention?

More leadership musings

đŸȘ Biscuits with the Boss:

If Roy Kent were your personal coach for one week, what habit would he force you to take seriously?

Whistle. Whistle. 👀

🌎 This week in Here - There - Every F’ing where

Curiosity #79 - Believe (It’s Not Impossible)
đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: “I believe in hope. I believe in belief." — Ted Lasso Artemis II is on its way. A mission built on years of effort, thousands of people, and one very simple idea that somehow still feels radical: We’re going back. Back to deep space.Back to the moon.Back to doing things that feel just a little bit impossible. And if you zoom out for a second, it’s kind of wild. A group of hu...
Curiosity #78 - The Courage to Be Seen
đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: “It takes strength to ask for help." — (Feels like something Ted would say
because he basically did) This weekend, something pretty special happened in golf. Gary Woodland won. If you follow the golf, you know that name. 2019 U.S. Open champion. Big hitter. Competitor. But this win felt different. Because it had been almost seven years since his last victory. And just a few...
Curiosity #77 - What Would Ted Lasso Do in This (Airport) Line?
đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: “Human beings are never going to be perfect. The best we can do is keep showing up for each other." — Ted Lasso If you’ve been near an airport lately, you’ve felt it. Longer lines.Slower movement.More sighs per square foot than usual. It’s one of those rare moments where everyone is thinking the same thing: “This should not be this hard.” And yet
 here we are. Standing. Wait...
