đŸŽ€ Quotable quotes: "Be curious. Not judgmental." - Ted Lasso

Change is hard. Ted even tells us that if you are comfortable while you are doing it, you might just be doing it wrong. That said... change doesn't have to be chaotic. This week we were excited to talk to Dr. Mary Lippitt. Mary is an expert in organizational change and leadership, known for her work on the Lippitt Model for managing complex change. (We would love to tell you how much we have geeked out on this model!) With a career spanning several decades, she has helped organizations align their strategies, people, and processes to achieve sustainable success.

Leadership Rules | Mary Lippitt

This Week’s Musing: Unpacking Leadership with Mary Lippitt

Mary shares her wisdom and experiences in guiding organizations and leaders through transformational change. Here are the key questions Mary tackled during our conversation:

  • How do leaders build a culture that thrives on change and continues to prosper even after they've moved on?
  • How crucial is having a clear vision in the change management process, and what role does an actionable plan play in realizing this vision?
  • What are some common pitfalls in implementing change, and how can leaders avoid them to ensure successful transformation?
  • How do you lead effectively when you are not the one in charge, especially in large or complex projects?
  • What’s the secret to influencing change within an organization without resorting to micromanagement?

🏅Whistle. Whistle.  "Focus on the game plan, not just the play."

Mary Lippitt's emphasis on a structured approach—vision, skills, incentives, resources, action plans—mirrors Roy's belief in the power of a well-rounded and thought-out strategy to lead teams to victory.

đŸŽ€Â Quotable quotes: "It’s easy to find knowledge. The hard part is figuring out how to use it." — The Business of You Ted Lasso could have holed up in a library, surrounded by soccer manuals, whispering “offsides” to himself until it stuck. He could have memorized player stats like they were the lyrics to Let It Go.
